Postcards from Istanbul

Minoa Pera Bookshop — a lovely, quiet place to get coffee & write ☕️

Egyptian Bazaar — offers a kaleidoscope of sweets, spices, and souvenirs in the heart of Istanbul

The Ceremonial Hall with the world’s largest crystal chandelier at Dolmabahçe Palace (Dolmabahçe Sarayı) — a 19th-century imperial palace overlooking Bosporus with a luxurious courtyard where you can find swans & peacocks roaming freely — a truly majestic place! 🦚

Topkapı Palace — served as the main residence of Ottoman Empire’s sultans from 1460s to Dolmabahçe Palace’s completion in 1853; worth exploring for its labyrinth-like Harem  and exquisite tile work!

Basilica Cistern (Yerebatan Sarnıcı) — the largest ancient underground water reservoir. It was built in the 6th century, and stepping inside feels like entering a mythical underworld.

Gülhane Park, overlooking the Bosphorus Strait and Marmara Sea — a picturesque place to relax and admire Istanbul’s beloved cats 🐈

A serene view of the New Mosque (or Yeni Mosque) taken from the Bosphorus tour — a beautiful way to end the trip and admire Istanbul’s architecture 🌊
