If you were a rose,
You would hide in the dark
Until I discovered your delicate spark.
If you were a rose,
Every flower would fade,
Entranced by the perfume which you radiate.
If you were a rose,
Your soft, velvety skin
Would cover my eyes with the raptures unseen.
If you were a rose,
I would kiss your wild thorns,
Crimson with blood, as it lingers and burns.
If you were a rose,
You would bloom all year long,
Drinking my tears when I cry, all alone.
If you were a rose,
You would grow in my heart,
Entwining it gently, as you tear me apart.
My garden has blossomed With sorrow and loss.
Why didn't you tell me that you were a rose?
Hello, lovely stranger! My name is Veronika Sizova, and I am currently studying in Canada.
Since early childhood, I have been mesmerized by the literary art. The words – exquisite, intricately intertwined, sophisticated, magnificently powerful and fragile simultaneously, – remind me of the oceanic waves, and poetry hides in their unfathomable depths.
This place is meant to become a sanctuary for the tortured souls, aflame with a passion for literature.

Your poetic sensitivity and visual creativity gorgeously wrapped in a magical habiliment of words sweep my spirit away to a garden of fancy in one fell swoop. 🌺🌸🌼💐🌻. The rose 🌹 in your mind’s garden becomes existent when you suddenly recognize the presence in hides. How blind we are that our own imprisoned conception prevents us from seeing the beauty from within! Your poetic rose has brightened my Saturday morning, Veronica. ⭐️🧚♀️👑
Dear Stephanie, it is gratifying to know that you enjoyed my lyrical musing!💌
This poem was partially inspired by Franz Kafka’s Letters to Milena: “You are the knife I turn inside myself; that is love.”
The deeper we love, the more we suffer, letting our feelings devour the heart from within – pain is intertwined with beauty. Therefore, the experience of love becomes surreal and grotesque, like a rose in Magritte’s painting, which is not a flower but merely an image, conveying what the viewer wants to see. 🥀
This poem is simply exquisite ☺️
